My Creation&Evolution Report for Science Class
"Creation: a doctrine or theory holding that matter, the various forms of life, and the world was created by God out of nothing.."
Evolution and creation. Two different viewpoints on how our world was created.
Evolutionist believe that the world was created by a "Big Bang". Basically,"nothing' exploded, and created everything..They also believe that man started out as a non-living object ( like rock ), then turned into a living object ( like say..chimpanzee), then, finally, to a human.
Creationists believe in Genesis chapter 1 account of a literal 6 day Creation, as written down by Moses who was divinely inspired by God. We believe that God created the world, just by His words, and that on the 6th day of creation, He created man in His own image, out of dust, and then made woman out of one of man's ribs.
Evolution is a theory. According to my Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word theory means:
1) General principles of a subject.
2) Plausible or scientifically acceptable explanation, and thirdly..
3) A judgment, guess, or opinion.
A theory is not a fact. A theory is an assumption. But, could we believe ( Creation ), be a theory?
A non-believer looks at the evidence and sees the universe as a result of natural processes. A believer sees the world as a result of Intelligent design.Does evidence lead to our conclusions? Or is it our beliefs on God?
I think it is the latter. That's just my honest opinion. If you believe that there is a God, then you could not logically look around at this great universe and believe it all happened by chance.
To accept creation by faith is no more "religious" than accepting evolution by faith. Both viewpoints are based on assumptions, and believed through faith. Evolution explains facts based on an assumption of natural, continual process. Creation explains facts based on an assumption of supernatural, completed process. There are three components to both rationales - assumptions, facts, and conclusions. Facts are the same. The reason we draw different conclusions is because we have different assumptions to begin with.
Scientists can not explain the "why" with evolution. Why was there a "Big Bang"? One suggestion(which I found very interesting, and slightly creepy) was that God exploded Himself into billions of tiny pieces and so each person has a piece of God inside him or her.
There is no factual( experimentally testable and reproducible ) science that supports evolution.
Science can only discover what God has brought about.
Hey!
Sorry it's been so long since I posted!!

Look What I got!!
I got a Baldwin Hamilton piano.........from a thrift store!
Last Wednesday, we were going around to different thrift stores that were having bag sales. One store had a piano for sale.
$75 dollars. Very good price for this piano any piano(:
I am just toooooooooo excited! I was needing/wanting a new piano since my old piano is well, old. My old piano has keys missing, keys that don't work, and the damper pedal is broken(aaaagghhh). I still love that piano, it's my first piano. The one I was given on my 12th birthday,6 months after I started learning how to play.
But this new piano, it's smaller(it's a studio, the old one is an upright), all the keys work, and all the pedals work. It's slightly out of tune, but that's no problem.
I'm totally rambling lol.
Daniel says he can refinish my piano for me.Think I should go with the same colour or a different one?
It's going in the girls' room. Thataway,I can play it even when it's dark(where I used to have the piano, there was no light so I could only play it during the day). My old piano,I gave to Daniel(since he's teaching himself how to play by ear) and he moved it into the boys' room.
Weeelllll,just had to share(:
Goodbye, and God Bless!

When I Say "I Am A Christian"....
When I say that I'm a Christian,I'm not shouting "I am clean living!", I'm whispering "I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven"
~
When I say "I am a Christian", I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ as my guide.

When I say " I am a Christian",I'm not trying to be strong. I'm proffessing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say " I'm a Christian",I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean up my messes.

When I say "I'm a Christian",I'm not claiming to be perfect. My faults are too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

Is it wrong that I don't question my beliefs?
☼
Is it wrong that I've never asked my mom why she's raised my sisters and I to dress modestly and wear skirts?
☼
I've never been one to openly question anything.Sure,I wonder at things but I don't speak my mind. That's just the way I am. But,recently people have asked me things like "Why do you believe what you believe" and "Why do you always wear skirts?"
Q: Why do you believe what you believe?
A; Because that's how I was raised.
Q: Why do you always wear skirts?
A: Because that's how I was raised.
☼
But....
Should I question my beliefs?

I'm Excited.
So as you know,I'm 15. I'll be graduating, more than likely, sometime next year. I'll be going to college soon after and naturally I need to money to do so. Well I've been looking for a job . But I've been having problems-#1. Most of the closest places hiring are 45 miles away-too far to drive back and forth everyday. #2. I'm not old enough for a driver's license so I would have to rely on my mom to bring me and that would be harder because we'd have to either get all the kids ready to go with us or make sure my older brother was at home. and #3.Most places don't hire 15 year olds.
Well...
Subway in Alma(a town about 15 miles away) is hiring a part time worker. I was able to get an application and..I'VE BEEN ASKED TO COME IN FOR AN INTERVIEW ON FRIDAY! (Sorrry for the capitals..I'm kinda excited lol) PLease, keep me in your prayers that I'll get the job. (^:

Candle Christians
We're to be a light to the world as Christians, right?
Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Christians are like candles.
1) Candles shine in darkness. Same as the Christian's "light" should shine in the "darkness" of the lost world.
2) Candles still shine even when they are alone. Christians don't have to be in groups in order to be a testimony.
3) Candles shine wherever they're at. Christians don't
only have on set place to be a witness and a testimony, they can "let their light shine" anywhere, everyhere!
4) Candles shine inspite of criticisms. A candle isn't going to quit shining because you criticise it,will it? Neither should the Christian.
5) Candles shine inspite of compliments. Weird thought,I kow. But sometimes, you get complimented on something and you get puffed up and prideful and then you aren't being as good a witness.
6) The candle is always pointed up. Even when you tip it,the flame points up.Christians' lives should point to heaven.
7) The candle's main purpose is to give off light. That's what we as Christians should do. Matthew 5:16.
Remember that you are a "candle Christian"
"This light of mine,I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine,I'm gonna let it shine.let it shine, let it shine, let it shine."

Don't have time to do a good post but figured 'twould be best to a short one(^= Hopefully I'll have some time later this month to write a good one.

Universe.
Universe.
Uni is a Greek word meaning "One".
Verse is a Greek word meaning"Spoken sentence".
So the word "Universe" means"A Single Spoken Sentence".
Interesting..
So this means that even atheists believe that we live in a"Single Spoken Sentence".
Something to think about..

Day by Day piano hymn
Be thankful
Be Thankful
Be thankful you don't already have everything.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times,
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you are tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they cane become your blessings.
>> not sure who wrote this, found this in a magazine
Thanksgiving is in 2 days. Thanksgiving is a time of food and family and most importantly, a time of being thankful. This year I'm thankful that for so many reasons. Many times, it's easier for me to look at all the bad in my life but this time of year really reminds me that while I do have a lot of stress because of everything, I also have so many blessings. You know what I'm trying to say? Just be thankful (: Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving and God bless ya'll!

Dating Rules
I mentioned in my last post a few of my mom's dating rules and so I've decided to post the whole list (: Now this won't be word for word what our list of rules is because I'm doing it by memory not by copying the paper.
Dating Rules:
#1. No dating before age 18
The "dating age" will not change just because you meet your special someone before you reach 18. You do need to go dating until you are closer or at an age where you are ready to be married
#2. No touching
To avoid accidental touching, keep a minimum of 6 inches between you and your special someone.
#3. Always have a chaperone
Never go off alone with your special someone. Temptation is far too easy to give in to. That's why God gave you siblings- instant chaperones!
#4. No sex before marriage
And after that only sex with your wife/husband. (duh)
#5. Be honest
with your special someone, with your family and your special someone's family. If you are truly interested in someone, then you should never lie to them.
#6. Do not date an unbeliever

#6. Do not date an unbeliever
"Be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion has light with darkness? " 1 Corinthians 6:14 KJV. Also, find out what their beliefs are and if they vary with your own.
#7.Listen to your family
Your family can see any flaws in your special someone that there may be. Whereas you more than likely won't notice them because you are blinded by love/infatuation
#8. Forge a friendship with your special someone
Friendships are a wonderful base for a relationship and then, even if your relationship does not go far, at least you will now have a good friend

Do your parents have rules regarding dating set up for you? If so, maybe do a blog post about them. I'm sure others would love to hear about them. I know I would!
God bless!

No K-i-s-s-i-n-g
"No kissing, you two" was heard today at the campfire. As we walked around looking for the 2 missing teens we called"no kissing". Added in was" no kissing, you know you aren't allowed to kiss before marriage". One boy looks at me" they can kiss before marriage, that's allowed, it's just the other stuff that's not allowed."
Should kissing be allowed before marriage? I don't think so. Kissing can lead to impure thoughts and actions. As a Christian young person, you should be saving yourself for marriage - entirely...kissing and all.
My mom has rules about us dating.
#1. No dating till your ready for marriage- it's not needed to go falling in love when you aren't ready to be a husband/wife.
#2. No kissing+hugging-it can lead to temptation and ruin your purity-intentional or otherwise
#3. No going out together alone- you must have another couple with you- temptation is far to easy when you're alone.
Do your parents have rules about you dating? They should. If they don't, ask them to set up some guidelines. Rules about dating and purity are a must have for every young person.

The Old Rugged Cross
This song has been in my head all day (:
"On a hill far away,
stood an old rugged cross.
the emblem of suffering and shame
And I love that old cross
where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain!
So I'll cherish
that old rugged cross
'till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown
Oh, that old rugged cross
so despised by the world
Has a wondrous attraction for me.
For the dear Lamb of God
left His glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary
that old rugged cross
'till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown
In the old rugged cross,
stained with blood so divine
A wondrous beauty I see
For 'twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died to pardon and sanctify me!
So I'll cherish
that old rugged cross
'till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown
To the old rugged cross
I will ever be true,
Its shame and reproach gladly bear
Then He'll call me someday to my home far away
Where His glory forever I'll share
So I'll cherish
that old rugged cross
'till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown"

What a wonderful old hymn! Yesterday, we were sitting at the table playing a game and Daniel starts singing this hymn Then our close friend Payshence starts singing it as well and then I start singing . It's so much fun singing hymns with those two.

It's October already! My goodness, where has the year flown? Only 2 months till Christmas! It's fall here in Nebraska, the leaves are changing and falling of the trees and instead of 100+ degree weather,we're having cool temps of 70+ degrees.
So sorry for the long time since I last updated.Life has just been getting the way.
Anyways...since the last time I posted...I have started taking and teaching piano lessons, We have started school, we have been back in our town for more that a week at a time(hallelujah!), I had a surprise piano playing oppurtunity...3 times!,I've made a new friend,I've almost lost my best friend, Abigail has been in the Miss Amazing pageant(I'll post a pic of her farther down,ok), and my dad came to visit us. Oh and yeah..I turned 15!!
A little about R School Homeschool(as we kids named it some years back). Daniel and I are in 10th grade. We think we are geniuses and since we think that,we are doing our best to do 10th & 11th grade this year. If it works, that means I will graduate high school a few months before I turn 17 and Daniel will graduate a few months before he turns 18. Nathan is in 7th grade this year(15 months younger than me and 3 grades behind lol). Samuel is in 4th, and Abigail and Lydia are in 2nd. We are doing a little bit of "school" with Beka as well. My school subjects this year are- Science: Biology-The Study of Life, Literature: A Study Through the Pilgrim's Progress, History: Baptist History(Daniel's doing World History), Bible: Bible Doctrines- Dealing with Subjects such as The Trinity, How Do We know God Inspired the Bible and More,Math: Alegebra, English: Grammar and Composition 4 and Step by step French.
Anyway so here's some pictures...Enjoy!

How to Read Through the Book of Psalms in One Month
Something interesting I learned a few days ago(:
You can read completely through the book of Psalms in one month by following this simple schedule
Example:
September 1st- Psalms 1, 31,61,91 and 121
Do you see what I did?
add the number "30" to whatever day it is and continue on from there.
so since today is the 2nd, you would read Psalms 2,32,62,92,and 122.
Each month you will read through Psalms and in a year you will have read through the book of Psalms 12 times!
Try doing that this month.
God bless!
